Clinical Supervisor Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:This is a leadership position responsible for the general clinical oversight of the clinical and medical functions. Ensures provision of safe, high quality patient care by the FAITH clinical staff and that all functional areas are effective, efficient and monitored for continuous improvement to meet the changing needs of the organization.
LICENSURE AND CREDENTIALS:
1. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Psychologist or Licensed Professional Counselor, preferred.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
1. MSW Degree or equivalent education.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Clinical Supervisor, preferred
3. Minimum 5+ years experience working with adults and or adolescents with mental health and/or co-occurring disorders.
4. Experience facilitating individual, group and family therapy.
5. Experience with mental health and treatment modalities and best practices in Behavioral Health.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Plan, organize, and manage own work and that of direct reports; set priorities and measure performance.
2. Ensures that staffs documentation using the electronic medical records system is accurate, timely and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
3. Communicates effectively with medical team to ensure coordination of care.
4. Oversees quality assurance, treatment team meetings and distributes and disseminates information to clinical staff.
5. Coaches and directs clinical staff to best performance.
6. Creates and implements clinical and programmatic strategies and goals for FAITH, and ensures that these goals are in line with company’s strategic initiatives.
7. Develops clinical staffing patterns to ensure staff assignments are based on client demographics, diagnosis, cultural competency, and promotes excellence in patient care for current needs and ongoing growth.
8. Responsible for staff productivity using metrics and reporting.
9. Provide individual staff and group supervision..
10. Acts as a resource and role model and leader to staff and to community, and provides direction and education to meet organization and staff goals.
11. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Maintain licenses and/or certifications as required
2. Effective written and oral communication; expressing complex and technical terminology and concepts in an understandable manner
3. Keep abreast of alternative treatment methods including best practices for treating the co-occurring population and implementing trauma informed care.
4. Identify the need for an develop proposed changes in current practices, policies and procedures.
5. Therapeutic Program development and implementation to enhance quality care within behavioral health.
6. Ensures program is in compliance with Joint Commission standards, and up-to-date evidence based practices.
7. Demonstrates competence in mental health disorders treatment including client evaluation, counseling techniques, case management, and family therapy;
8. Strong experience in implementing experiential learning interventions.
9. Takes initiative to assess skills and interests and seek development activities that match needs.
10. Anticipates and implements crisis intervention services as needed.
11. Apply a reasonable degree of physical exertion to control client behavior in emergency situations.
12. Strong work ethic, able to solve problems and overcome challenges.
